We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Organise and oversee group activities to encourage teamwork and social interaction
- Manage behaviour in accordance with organisational policies, promoting respectful interactions
- Support colleagues in managing the nursery environment to ensure cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards are met
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong management and leadership abilities to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging with children, parents, and colleagues clearly and empathetically
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and childcare regulations
- Ability to organise activities that stimulate learning whilst ensuring safety and enjoyment
- Childcare qualifications or relevant nursery experience are highly desirable
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation purposes where required
- Organised, proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
