Are you a Psychology student or a graduate looking to put your understanding of human behaviour into practice?
Zen Educate is looking for empathetic, observant, and motivated individuals to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across Stroud, Gloucester & Stonehouse. This is the perfect opportunity to gain high-quality, frontline experience in educational psychology, mental health, and child development while maintaining the flexibility of part-time or ad-hoc work around your studies.
Location: Bath & surrounding areas Salary: Competitive daily rates (Paid weekly) Contract: Flexible Ad-hoc, Part-Time, or Term-Time
The Role: Theory into Practice
Working in an SEN environment allows you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios. You will be supporting pupils with various needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
What you will be doing:
- Behavioural Support: Observing triggers and implementing positive reinforcement strategies to help students regulate their emotions.
- 1:1 Mentoring: Providing a consistent and calm presence for children who require extra support to access the curriculum.
- Engagement: Finding creative ways to keep students motivated and focused on their learning goals.

Who We Are Looking For:
While we highly value Psychology, Sociology, or Education students, we welcome applicants from any subject background provided you have the right experience and a genuine passion for child development.
- Experience with Children: You must have previous experience working with children. This does not need to be in a school—we value experience from summer camps, youth clubs, sports coaching, childcare, or volunteering.
- Academic Interest: Your studies should reflect an interest in supporting young people and understanding complex needs.
- Resilience & Empathy: You should be patient, adaptable, and capable of remaining calm in challenging situations.
- Reliability: Schools and students rely on consistency; we need people we can count on.
