Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our new optical practice. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assess their optical needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their style, comfort and prescription requirements
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments
- Verify prescriptions with the optometrist to ensure accurate dispensing
- Conduct minor laboratory tasks such as lens mounting and finishing to prepare eyewear for delivery
- Educate customers on proper eyewear and available lens options
- Maintain detailed records of customer prescriptions, transactions and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation procedures
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy related to the eye and visual system to provide accurate advice
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
- Attention to detail for precise measurements and quality control in eyewear fitting
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service with a positive attitude
