D-Tech International Ltd, is a privately owned company and is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high-performance technology products and services for public space locations in the UK and overseas. Our success has been built in the library sector but in recent years we have seen an increase in cross-sector demand for our EM, RF and RFID technologies for tracking, managing, protecting and forecasting demand.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our busy team! We are looking for someone located near to our offices in Rendlesham Suffolk. The role requires you to attend customer locations around the country (possibly overseas if the opportunity arrives) to carry out fault repairs, installations and servicing, from time to time you will be required to stay away from home also. You will have a fully expensed company van, fuel card, laptop, mobile phone and company clothing. All tools and training will be supplied.
The position will involve the following, but not limited to:
- Installation of new hardware i.e. free-standing kiosk’s, security antennas, vending machines & People Counters etc.. (This may involve chasing floors and drilling through walls etc...)
- Working at height using ladders/Scaffolding.
- Adhering to H&S policies
- Replacement of faulty hardware (PC’s, coin acceptors, barcode scanners to Power Supplies etc.).
- Installing software on customer’s PC’s.
- Fault finding with hardware and software.
- Provide staff training.
- Keeping online tickets updated.
- Maintaining vehicle stock.
- Attending the office to assist with work in production or Customer Support on an ad-hoc basis as and when required.
What we are looking for is someone who is willing to learn and has a ‘can do attitude’ as this position requires a varied skill set.
Skills we are looking for in you:
- Working with Windows 11 operating systems.
- Valid passport (required)
- Installation of software applications.
- Understanding of how a network works at a basic level.
- Ability to use drills and floor chasers for installing equipment (from first fixes to commission).
- Good customer communication skills (this is a customer facing role)
- Reliable & dependable.
- Able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Clean UK Driving licence

This position is dependent on a DBS check being carried out as well as two successful references (Disclosure & Barring Service).
