Due to ongoing growth and a strong pipeline of future work, we have a unique opportunity for an Environmental Manager/ECoW to join our highly respected teams of ECoWs, EnvCoWs and ecologists in Inverness and Edinburgh.
You will be working on a variety of critical projects supporting our clients to deliver projects in the renewable energy property development, infrastructure, and peatland restoration sectors across Scotland.

About this Job
This is a role that will be largely site based, either at consultant or senior level, with a degree of time spent at the desk to complete deliverables and respond to project requirements. Your time will largely be spent on the delivery of Ecological/Environmental of Clerk of Works/Environmental Manager services at sites across Scotland.
Your role will include:

Acting as on-site environmental advisor, liaising with site staff to:

Ensure on-site compliance with schedule of environmental commitments.

Ensuring compliance with planning conditions and regulatory requirements such as CAR licence or protected species licenses.

Delivery of toolbox talks.
-
Water quality monitoring.
-
Attending site meetings.
-
Reporting.
-
Acting as Environmental Manager for certain projects.
-
Project Management of a range of small to large scale projects.
- Supporting clients, on site during construction phase of projects.
- Planning and managing surveys using various methodologies.

Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients.
- Preparation of tenders, and support business development activities.

Input to site documentation such Construction Environmental Management Plans.

Mentoring of junior members of the Atmos Ecology Team.
Who are we looking for?
-
A BSc or MSc in a relevant subject, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience or demonstratable experience as ECoW, EnvCoW or Environmental Adviser/Manager.

A full member of CIEEM (or equivalent body) and in possession of a valid CSCS card.

Ideally have experience of protected species surveying however, this is not essential as we have a full team of ecologists to support.
- Fully conversant with the framework of legislation and guidance within the UK.

Robust project management skills with the ability to plan and deliver works in line with budgets and programme deadlines.

Good report writing skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to advise clients.

Excellent health and safety awareness, especially safe working practices and risk assessment related to site safety and ecological surveying.

Full current driving licence.
