Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Care Support Worker to assist in providing high-quality care and support to adults with a learning disability within a caring environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of those in their care. Duties
- Assist with daily activities and personal care needs of the adults in our care, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each person's needs
- Engage clients in stimulating activities that promote socialisation, learning, and development
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations relevant to the individual's wellbeing
- Support with light domestic tasks such as organising activities, preparing snacks, and maintaining a clean environment
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver consistent care.
- Communicate clearly with clients using excellent English language skills and utilise IT systems for record keeping and reporting
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including safeguarding procedures and infection control measures
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities is essential.
- Registered with Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent organisational skills
- Awareness of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
