Looking for the next step in your career?
Land Science Ltd is seeking an ambitious Geotechnical or Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our growing team and take ownership of their own projects.
This role is ideally suited to someone with several years' UK ground investigation consultancy experience who is ready to take ownership of their own projects. We expect most applicants will have around 5 years' experience, although more experienced candidates seeking greater autonomy and responsibility are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will manage investigations from initial client enquiry and proposal stage through to delivery of factual and interpretive reports, with support from our experienced technical and operational teams where required. You may currently be working as a:
- Geotechnical Engineer
- Geo-Environmental Engineer
- Engineering Geologist
- Graduate Engineer
- Assistant Project Manager
and be looking for greater responsibility, client exposure, and long-term progression.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of ground investigation projects, working closely with our in-house field teams, laboratory staff, and senior technical specialists.
We are looking for somebody with a background in either geotechnical or geo-environmental engineering who is keen to broaden their experience. Applicants trained in one discipline but with practical exposure to the other are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Designing and planning ground investigations
- Managing projects from enquiry through to completion
- Liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulators
- Scheduling fieldwork and laboratory testing
- Reviewing site data and laboratory results
- Preparing factual and interpretive reports
- Monitoring project quality, budgets and programme delivery
- Supporting graduates and technicians
- Attending site visits when required
This is a role for somebody who wants ownership and responsibility while still receiving support from experienced senior staff.
Unlike many larger consultancies, this position offers the opportunity to become involved in the entire project lifecycle. You will have direct exposure to clients, field operations, laboratory testing, project finances and reporting, providing an excellent platform for rapid professional development.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have developed within either Geotechnical or Geo-Environmental consultancy and are looking to broaden their experience across both disciplines.
