Pay: £13.00 per hour basic plus tronc on top — total earnings typically £14+ per hour

About us
Tsiakkos & Charcoal is a family-run Greek-Cypriot restaurant that's been serving Maida Vale for around 30 years. We cook traditional Cypriot food over live charcoal, we're busy most nights, and we run a tight, friendly kitchen. We're looking for a hands-on Kitchen Assistant to support our chefs.
The role
- Food prep — chopping, peeling, marinating, portioning, and prepping meze dishes
- Helping the chefs during service — plating, garnishing, and keeping sections stocked
- Keeping work surfaces and prep areas clean and organised throughout the shift
- Receiving deliveries, checking stock, and rotating it correctly (FIFO)
- Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Pitching in with washing up and general kitchen duties when needed
What we're looking for
- Some kitchen experience preferred — prep or commis background is ideal, but we'll train someone with the right attitude
- Reliable and punctual — this is non-negotiable
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Quick, tidy, and calm under pressure during a busy service
- A team player — we're a small kitchen and everyone mucks in
- Basic food hygiene knowledge (Level 2 certificate a plus — we can help you get it)
- Right to work in the UK
