The Role
You will support a broad range of UK, EU and international trade mark matters, working closely with our team to deliver practical, commercially focused advice to our clients.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Advising on the registrability of trade marks and registered designs
- Conducting and advising on clearance searches and risk analysis
- Providing strategic advice on contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters, including oppositions and enforcement risks
- Developing filing strategies and reviewing portfolios to strengthen brand protection
- Assisting with trade mark audits and client relationship management
- Preparing and reviewing evidence, including witness statements for distinctiveness, reputation and infringement matters
- Handling or supporting UKIPO, EUIPO and international oppositions, cancellations and revocations
- Drafting licences, assignments and submissions to trade mark offices
- Reviewing official correspondence and reporting to clients with clear, pragmatic recommendations
- Drafting specifications, responses to objections, oppositions and appeals
- Managing deadlines and progressing matters efficiently to conclusion
- Supervising and supporting more junior team members in relation to IP work, ensuring accuracy, consistency and development of technical capability
What We Are Looking For
- CITMA-qualified Trade Mark Attorney (essential)
- Strong experience across UKIPO, EUIPO and ideally international filings and disputes
- Confident advising independently with a commercial, client-focused approach
- Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented
- Able to manage workload flexibly and meet deadlines in an ad-hoc environment
- Comfortable working remotely and integrating into a distributed team
- Experience working with SMEs and growing businesses would be advantageous
- Able to aid in strategically developing IP side of the business and identifying new areas for growth alongside delivery

Equivalent to £45,000-£75,000 FTE (full-time equivalent), pro rata according to hours worked and experience.
