We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Cake Shop Assistant & Social Media Coordinator to join our vibrant team. This role combines hands-on assistance within our bustling cake shop with strategic management of our social media presence. Key ResponsibilitiesShop & Customer Service
- Welcome customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist customers with cake orders, enquiries, and product recommendations.
- Process payments using the POS system and handle cash/card transactions.
- Package cakes and desserts carefully for collection or delivery.
- Keep display counters well-stocked, attractive, and clean.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the shop.
- Support the team with basic cake preparation, packaging, and stock management.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Social Media & Marketing
- Create engaging photo and video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Capture high-quality images and videos of cakes, desserts, and behind-the-scenes bakery activities.
- Schedule and publish regular social media posts.
- Respond to customer comments and messages professionally.
- Help plan marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, and product launches.
- Monitor social media performance and suggest ideas to increase engagement and sales.
- Maintain brand consistency across all digital platforms.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, bakery, or customer service is preferred.
- Experience managing business social media accounts.
- Strong photography and short-form video creation skills.
- Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic personality.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work weekends and busy seasonal periods.
Desirable Skills
- Basic cake decorating or bakery experience.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety.
- Experience using scheduling tools and social media analytics.
- Graphic design or content creation experience.
