Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Forklift/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient materials handling, operating forklift equipment, and supporting warehouse management activities. Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse
- Assist with materials handling, ensuring accurate stacking and storage of products
- Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch or receipt
- Maintain accurate records using the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to minimise downtime
- Assist with stock organisation, inventory checks, and cycle counts
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times, including proper utilisation of PPE
- Support the overall organisation of the warehouse environment, keeping it clean and safe
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence recognised by relevant authorities
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and stock control procedures
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently (up to 25kg or more)
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety regulations
- Previous experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or reach trucks is desirable but not essential
