Responsibilities
- Monitor residents or clients overnight, providing assistance as needed to promote safety and comfort
- Respond promptly and effectively to calls for help or emergencies during the night shift
- Support individuals with personal care tasks, including mobility, hygiene, and medication reminders, respecting their dignity and preferences
- Maintain accurate and detailed care plans to ensure personalized support tailored to each individual’s needs
- Communicate clearly with team members and family members about any overnight concerns or changes in condition
- Conduct regular checks on the environment to ensure safety protocols are followed, including fire safety and security measures
- Complete thorough documentation of night-time activities, incidents, and observations using IT systems and care records
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to use IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes accurately
- Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving community or home visits
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures to deliver consistent, person-centered support
- Demonstrated reliability, patience, and excellent observational skills during overnight shifts
