Maelor Foods Ltd is an established, state of the art, modern chicken processing facility based just outside of Wrexham. As a privately owned, Family run business we source our birds from reputable local farms who comply to British Red Tractor guidelines. This enables us to provide premium "A" grade quality whole chickens direct to retailers. Working closely with our sister company, Salisbury Poultry we have the ability to offer the end user full farm to fork traceability, ensuring total customer satisfaction.
Job Role
The Amenities Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring offices, toilets, canteens, changing rooms and all other common areas are kept clean and in a hygienic condition in order keep standards high throughout the site. The individual will be working as part of the cleaning team to provide a safe, efficient and first-class cleaning provision to the Maelor Foods site.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all common areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner safely and to the required standards
- Use general cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Chemicals Hazardous to Health (COSHH Regulations) guidelines
- Ensure all safety signs (wet floor signs) are used in order to reduce risk to others while working
- Complete daily cleaning schedule and report immediately where cleaning has not been completed
- Use electrical cleaning equipment such as hoovers etc. ensuring a safety check on the equipment is performed prior to use
- Emptying and disposing of general waste bins and segregating waste where required
- Receiving overall and PPE deliveries, storing them correctly and reporting any issues to your line manager
- Demonstrating the competent application of good manufacturing practices required to consistently operate to high standards of food quality and food safety
- Complying with Company hygiene policies and procedures when undertaking operations while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene including the correct wearing of all PPE

To ensure maximum efficiencies within the operation, flexibility is essential. You will be required to assist in other areas which could include other departments within the business.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experiencing of cleaning including use of Chemicals
- Understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH requirements
- To be both punctual and reliable
- To be able to work as part of a team and on your own
- Good attention to detail
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Relevant qualification (NVQ) or similar
- Knowledge of corporate cleaning systems and procedures
Hours of Work
The working schedule is on a rotational basis:
Shift 1: Monday 4:30am – 3:30pm, Tuesday to Friday 1:30pm – 10:00pm
Shift 2: Tuesday to Saturday 4:30am – 1:30pm
