Job Summary
As a Day Centre Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals attending our service. Working closely with Service Users, colleagues and other professionals, you will help plan and deliver a varied programme of activities tailored to individual interests, abilities and aspirations.
You'll support people to develop life skills, confidence and independence while encouraging participation in both centre-based and community activities that promote social inclusion, health and wellbeing.
Duties
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health support needs.
- Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities that reflect individual interests, abilities, goals and aspirations.
- Support individuals to develop life skills, confidence, communication skills, independence and social networks.
- Encourage and enable participation in centre-based and community activities that promote physical, emotional, educational and social wellbeing.
- Build positive, professional relationships with Service Users, colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Act as a positive role model, providing encouragement, motivation and practical support.
- Promote choice, dignity, respect, equality and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
- Support Service Users to access community resources, opportunities and services that enhance their independence and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes, including recording outcomes and achievements.
- Assist with the effective and economical use of resources, including activity budgets, equipment and materials.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and actively promote the values and reputation of Expect Ltd.
Previous Experience
Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health support needs or other vulnerable groups is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

- Health and social care settings.
- Day opportunities, community services or support work roles.
- Planning and delivering activities, workshops or wellbeing programmes.
- Supporting people to develop independence, life skills and confidence.
- Working in a person-centred way to achieve positive outcomes.
- Building positive relationships and supporting social inclusion.
- Maintaining accurate records and following care plans or support plans.

Pay: From £13,218.40 per year
