Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Site Fitter & Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, fitting, and assembling a variety of our manufactured steel gates, railings, stair cases and other building components on-site, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
We also undertake on-site repairs and modifications to existing items. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects across diverse environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of materials and tools, helping to bring architectural visions to life.
Although primarily working out on site, working within the fabrication shop will be required as and when needed.
The candidate must have a full UK driving licence, and ideally hold a CSCS card.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately assemble and install building components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, fit and/or repair steelwork and other similar items.
- Ensure all installations meet safety and quality standards by adhering to proper procedures and inspection protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and maintain a clean, organized worksite.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure precision and durability.
- Assist in the fabrication of custom components on-site when necessary, utilizing welding and other skills.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction-related roles with knowledge of welding and other general fitting/installation works
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for precise fitting and installation tasks.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for correct assembly.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and building regulations.
- Experience working with fabrication techniques and using construction schematics for complex projects.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively on-site.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces.
