Help young people build confidence, gain independence and discover their future.
Are you passionate about helping people achieve their potential? Do you enjoy building relationships, supporting others to succeed and making a genuine difference every day?
If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Join the Access Ability Team
At Access Ability, we specialise in supporting young adults with autism, disabilities and additional needs to develop the confidence, skills and independence they need to thrive.
We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Work Placement Coordinator to join our friendly, specialist team. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you'll work alongside inspiring young adults, supportive colleagues and local employers to create meaningful opportunities that change lives.
No two days are the same. One day you could be meeting local businesses to develop new work placements, the next you'll be coaching a young person through an interview, supporting them in the workplace or celebrating their success as they achieve a new milestone.
If you're someone who believes in people's potential and wants to be part of an organisation that genuinely makes a difference, we'd love to welcome you to our team.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Work Placement Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping young adults prepare for and succeed in the workplace.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building relationships with local employers to create voluntary work experience and employment opportunities.
- Supporting young adults to prepare for work placements through employability sessions and individual coaching.
- Providing personalised 1:1 support within work experience placements and paid employment.
- Helping individuals develop CVs, prepare for interviews and explore career opportunities.
- Working alongside employers to promote disability awareness and create inclusive, supportive workplaces.
- Supporting young adults to develop confidence, workplace skills and greater independence.
- Encouraging and, where appropriate, supporting independent travel to and from work placements.
- Monitoring progress, maintaining accurate records and updating risk assessments.
- Working closely with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure each young person receives consistent, person-centred support.
- Promoting best practice while always reflecting the values and ethos of Access Ability.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate, proactive and committed to helping others succeed.
You will be:
- Caring, professional and enthusiastic.
- An excellent communicator who enjoys building positive relationships.
- Organised, reliable and able to manage your own workload.
- A supportive coach and positive role model.
- Adaptable, patient and solution-focused.
- A genuine team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Motivated to learn, develop professionally and continually improve your skills.
- Passionate about empowering young people to achieve greater independence.
Experience working with autistic people, disabilities or additional needs would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. We value attitude, compassion and a willingness to learn just as much as previous experience.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Why Join Access Ability?
When you join Access Ability, you're joining much more than a workplace. You'll become part of a dedicated team that genuinely cares about each other and the young people we support.
We offer:
- A rewarding career where you can make a lasting impact.
- A welcoming, supportive and experienced specialist team.
- Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.
- A varied role where every day brings new experiences.
- The opportunity to help young people build brighter, more independent futures.
If you're looking for a career with purpose and want to be part of an amazing team making a real difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
