About your new role
As part of our growth journey, we are looking for a Junior Project Manager to proactively provide support on a number of exciting and transformative Government projects. You will play a pivotal role in delivering services that form part of the wider Transforming Public Procurement programme. You will work closely with colleagues and senior representatives from across Central Government Departments to ensure that projects meet the required client outcomes and that they are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Project Manager, you are expected to undertake the following responsibilities as part of your day to day activities:
- Defining project plans, establishing and adhering to deadlines, and monitoring progress of projects against plans.
- Identifying potential risks and proactively mitigating them.
- Managing budget and client expectations.
- Overseeing the development and testing function of projects.
- Providing regular updates with senior stakeholders.
- Tackling projects on an end-to-end basis including scoping, planning, liaising, and creating stories with Jira.
- Working cross-functionally between the development team, client team, and clients directly.
- Supporting the client team internally.
- Fostering a productive and positive working environment with a diverse group of individuals.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will ideally meet these requirements:
- You will have some knowledge of project management and software development.
- You will ideally have experience in Agile methodologies.
- You may also have experience in Waterfall methodologies.
- You take pride in strong organisational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- You have excellent time management skills, and you’re able to not only set but also adhere to strict deadlines.
- You take a proactive approach to projects; identifying potential risks and making decisions under pressure.
- You can hold yourself accountable, consistently working towards more streamlined processes in future projects.
- Desirable: Prince2 qualification.

Salary: £27,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
