We are a multi-disciplined, chartered construction company delivering high-quality works across the residential sector. Our services include full property renovations, gas and heating systems, electrical installations, renewable energy solutions, including air source heat pumps and solar PV/battery storage, and general maintenance.
Following the award of a number of major contracts, we are looking for an experienced Joiner’s Mate to join our team on a self-employed basis to support a large-scale programme of refurbishment works within void residential properties.
The Role
You will be working alongside experienced joiners and other trades, assisting with first and second fix joinery as part of full refurbishment works to void residential properties.
The role requires a reliable, hardworking and practically skilled individual with previous construction and joinery experience who is confident using hand and power tools and assisting with a variety of joinery tasks.
All works will be based across the Flintshire and Wirral areas.
Key Responsibilities
Typical works will include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting joiners with first and second fix carpentry and joinery
- Assisting with the installation of internal doors, frames, architraves and skirting boards
- Supporting kitchen installation works
- Measuring, cutting and preparing timber and other materials
- Removing existing joinery, fixtures and fittings as part of refurbishment works
- Preparing work areas ready for installation
- Using hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Loading, unloading and moving materials, tools and equipment
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Assisting with snagging and finishing works
- Reporting any issues, hazards or defects to the site supervisor
- Following all site health & safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
- Working efficiently alongside joiners and other trades to meet programme deadlines
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Joiner’s Mate, Carpenter’s Mate or similar construction role
- Experience working on residential refurbishment projects and/or void properties preferred
- Basic knowledge of first and second fix joinery
- Confident using common hand and power tools
- Valid CSCS Card preferred
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own vehicle
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and quality of work
- Good understanding of construction site health & safety
