Senior Climate Change Officer
Starting salary between £38268 and £46269 per annum
Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn
If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for the environment and want to make a real difference with have an opportunity for you to join our Environment and Planning directorate and support the delivery of our corporate climate change strategy.
We need your help to coordinate the Council’s climate change agenda and workload. You will assist with the implementation of the Council’s climate change strategy and action plan. You will promote and support the Council’s carbon reduction activities by working with council officers, elected members and external partner and stakeholder organisations. You will complete the council’s annual carbon audit and produce the annual district climate change emissions report, as well as supporting work with the Norfolk Climate Change Partnership.
You will have a degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent) with previous experience in a similar role with an understanding of climate change legislation and policy issues. You will have effective communications skills with the ability to research, compile and understand a range of data and present this information clearly within reports. You will be able to work effectively in a small team and be able to manage your own workload to set timescales and deadlines. You will have access to a car or means of mobility support to travel around the Borough and occasional meetings within Norfolk.
