Hours: Rotating shifts, 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm

The Role
As a Slitting Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating our light gauge steel slitting line, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, safely and efficiently. You will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of quality and service that USP Steels is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate light gauge slitting machinery.
- Process steel coils to customer specifications.
- Carry out quality inspections throughout production.
- Read and interpret production paperwork and job instructions.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where required.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Safely load and unload steel coils using overhead cranes (where authorised).
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
- Follow all company health, safety and quality procedures.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience operating steel slitting machinery.
- Experience within a steel processing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
Overhead crane and FLT experience would be advantageous, although training may be provided for the right candidate.
