We are looking for a Wednesday & Saturday Butchery Counter Assistant to join our brilliant team in our award-winning farm shop. Our farm shop is based on our beautiful 140-acre family-run farm just outside of Bath where we have a herd of our own native breed cattle.
Our farm has been operating for over 5 generations and now produces grass-fed, native-breed beef for our farm shop. A vacancy for a Butchery Counter Assistant has now come up to join our team to help with displaying products for our counter and providing outstanding service to our customers in our busy farm shop. Our butcher’s source direct from our own farm and other local farms to ensure our quality and traceability is the very best which is extremely important to our company ethos and our customer's demands.
The right candidate must have great customer service skills and is keen to learn. The role is part-time, 10-12 hours (Wednesdays & Saturdays) per week, possibly more for the right candidate. The position reports to our Head Butcher and works alongside three other full-time butchers.
General Tasks
- Friendly customer service
- Helping to set up our counter display
- Restocking and prepping products
- Packing products for customers
- Providing knowledge and expertise on particular products and cooking methods
- Maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Weekly cleaning tasks
We are looking for:
- Superb customer service with a smile.
- Good knowledge of meat cuts preferable but not necessary
- Passion for quality produce
- Knowledge of cooking methods for customer advice preferred
Although a lot of butchery experience isn’t vital, a passion for quality meat and how to prepare and cook it is along with an excellent manner to give the best customer service.
