Overview
The Assistant Psychologist will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals living with eating disorders. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Lead, the post-holder will contribute to psychological assessments, formulation, and therapeutic interventions delivered through both individual and group formats.
They will support the wider team through clinically related administration, audit, research, and outcome monitoring, ensuring that the service maintains excellence in clinical standards and continuous improvement.
The role requires working both independently and collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, upholding Caraline’s values of compassion, dignity, and evidence-based practice. The Assistant Psychologist will also contribute to service development projects and benefit from regular supervision and professional guidance, including opportunities to develop specialist skills in CBT-e, CBT-t, CBT-AR, and other eating disorder-focused approaches.
Duties
- To undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of clients applying psychological, self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems. Both on an individual basis with clients and in group therapy programmes.
- Adhere to Caraline’s safeguarding policies and procedures, raising concerns appropriately.
- To fully engage with supervision with the Clinical Lead and external supervisors.
- To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties
- To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.
- To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.
- Use our Portal system to keep accurate and detailed records of all contact with service users and to monitor treatment progress.
- Undertake the collection, processing, interpretation, reporting of information using appropriate software, including advanced statistical, and presentation packages.
- To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.

- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
Pay: £25,147.00 per year
