Red Lion, Lower Withington, SK11 9EA is a beautiful rural pub set by Jodrell Bank in the glorious Cheshire countryside. We have just completed a glorious refurbishment of our drinking and dining areas and our kitchen will be fully renovated in January 2027.
We are a small friendly supportive team here at the Red Lion. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great local pub that serves very high quality food. We also have a supper club and regular dining events that give our staff exposure to new and interesting foods from across the world.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant and Bar Manager to oversee daily operations within our pub. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a motivated team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for culinary excellence and hospitality management to contribute to a beautiful local dining environment. The position has responsibilities across restaurant and bar services, requiring strong leadership and organisational skills.
Duties
- Supervise daily restaurant and bar operations to ensure smooth service delivery
- Manage and motivate staff fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all departments
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food levels, menu planning, and special dietary requirements
- Monitor customer service levels, addressing any issues promptly to enhance guest satisfaction
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and oversee inventory control for both food and beverages
- Implement training programmes for staff on service procedures, safety protocols, and product knowledge
- Develop promotional strategies to increase patronage and optimise revenue streams
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the establishment’s brand values
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Previous cellar experience would be amazing but not essential
- Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food service, and food safety standards
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Experience in serving or bartending roles is essential
- Familiarity with hospitality operations including pub, restaurant, cocktail and barista experience is considered a plus
- Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Pay: £13.00-£13.75 per hour
