We’re looking for an experienced and confident Veterinary Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our friendly, supportive team.
This is a hands on role for someone who genuinely enjoys patient care, likes being part of a close-knit team, and is happy to muck in wherever needed. Previous veterinary practice experience is essential for this role.
About the role
You’ll be involved in the day to day running of the practice, supporting our vets and nurses and helping ensure our patients receive the best possible care. Your duties will include:
- Assisting vets and nurses during procedures
- Caring for in-patients and monitoring their comfort and wellbeing
- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining surgical equipment
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the practice
- Supporting reception duties, including answering phones, emails and client queries
- Using the practice computer systems confidently
You’ll need to be able to work independently, but also enjoy being part of a small, collaborative team.
Hours of work
Your expected hours of work are four days per week, working either 8:30am-6:30pm or 9:00am-7:00pm on a rotating basis, with one in four Saturday mornings.

We’re a happy, independent small animal veterinary practice based in Bexhill-on-Sea. We started during lockdown as a mobile service and have since grown into a modern, well-equipped, purpose-built surgery, proudly supported by our local community.
We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built, a kind, capable group of veterinary surgeons, nurses, care assistants and non-clinical staff. We are also lucky to have occasional visiting specialists. We believe in investing in our people and facilities, and we encourage team members to follow their interests and passions where possible.
Our practice is modern and well equipped, with a full IDEXX in-house laboratory, a dedicated dental suite, digital X-ray and ultrasound facilities, along with a range of other equipment that allows us to provide high-quality, up to date veterinary care and support the team in their day to day work.
