Overview
We are seeking a qualified Class 2 Driver with ADR certification to join our professional logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of curtainside vehicles, and have experience in delivery operations. This role involves transporting hazardous and non-hazardous goods safely and efficiently across various locations, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and customer service while adhering to legal and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 lorry equipped with tail lift for the transportation of goods, including hazardous materials where ADR certification is required
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely collection and delivery of goods
- Secure loads appropriately on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, ADR regulations, and company policies during operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered en route
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed
Experience
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with up-to-date ADR certification
- Demonstrable knowledge of safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and load securing procedures
- Experience in handling hazardous materials safely in compliance with ADR regulations is highly desirable
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles involving regular route planning and customer interaction is advantageous
