At Chalice Medical, we are seeking a dynamic and proactive Warehouse Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy warehouse and distribution function. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional to lead a dedicated team, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the efficient delivery of vital medical products to our customers.
As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehouse, managing shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, and fostering a safe and productive working environment. You will play a key role in motivating your team, implementing process improvements, and ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service are achieved.
Duties
- Lead and manage warehouse team members to achieve daily operational goals with enthusiasm and clarity
- Oversee materials handling activities, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods using forklifts and mechanical tools
- Coordinate shipping and receiving processes, verifying inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and timeliness
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, process orders, and generate reports
- Drive process improvement initiatives by analysing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to heavy lifting, equipment operation, and 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships
- Conduct regular team training on warehouse procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation to foster continuous development
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within distribution environments
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques, forklift operation (certification preferred), and heavy lifting safety practices
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Business Central
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and productivity
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and understand warehouse machinery operations
- Experience working with 3PL providers, shipping & receiving procedures, and logistics coordination is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to process improvement
