Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our dynamic transportation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate container trailers across extensive routes, delivering goods efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, on long-haul routes with a focus on compliance with road safety laws and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Plan efficient routes for delivery schedules while maintaining communication with dispatch teams for updates or changes
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, tachograph records, and vehicle inspection reports
- Follow all health and safety guidelines during driving, loading, unloading, and resting periods to promote a safe working environment
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, warehouse staff, and team members to foster positive relationships
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) certification
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with long-distance routes and tramping.
- Strong understanding of driving regulations, tachograph rules, and safety procedures for heavy goods vehicles
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities including documentation management
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning software is preferred
- Good communication skills with a proactive approach to safety and customer service
