As Runner, you are an essential part of the flow of every service, connecting the kitchen and floor and helping us deliver a smooth, warm and memorable experience for every guest.
Working closely with the Front of House and Kitchen teams, you will bring energy, organisation and attention to detail to every service. You’ll make sure dishes reach our guests quickly, beautifully and with care, while always being ready to support the people around you.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of Dover Street Counter. We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive and genuinely enjoys being part of a team — someone who takes pride in the small details and understands that brilliant hospitality is created by everyone.
Duties
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests efficiently, confidently and with care.
- Ensure every dish reaches the correct table promptly and is presented to our standards.
- Learn the menu and confidently identify dishes, ingredients and key allergens.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and Front of House teams throughout service.
- Support the smooth flow of service, particularly during busy periods.
- Assist with clearing, resetting and preparing tables when required.
- Help ensure service stations are clean, organised, stocked and ready for service.
- Support the team with polishing, preparation and other opening and closing duties.
- Pay attention to guests and communicate any requests or concerns quickly to the appropriate team member.
- Follow food safety, allergen, health & safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Work with urgency while remaining calm, professional and considerate of guests.
- Support colleagues wherever needed and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Represent the Dover Street Counter brand with pride.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for hospitality and looking after people.
- Previous restaurant experience is an advantage, but attitude, personality and willingness to learn are just as important to us.
- Warm, friendly and naturally positive.
- Energetic and comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communication.
- Able to listen, learn and follow direction.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- A natural team player who enjoys supporting others.
- Calm and focused under pressure.
- Curious and eager to develop your food, service and hospitality knowledge.
- Happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed — this is a hands-on role!
Join us as Runner to learn, develop and become an important part of a brilliant restaurant team while helping us create memorable experiences that keep our guests coming back.
