Junior Housekeeper
Private Estate near Stamford | Full-Time
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Junior Housekeeper to join a friendly, established and supportive team at a beautiful private estate near Stamford.
Reporting to the Senior Housekeeper, this role would particularly suit someone who has developed excellent cleaning standards through a professional cleaning company or similar environment and is now looking for an opportunity to broaden their skills and develop a career within private housekeeping.
A genuine understanding of, and interest in, natural and eco-friendly cleaning products and methods is particularly important. The household has a strong preference for using natural products wherever possible, and the successful candidate will understand how to achieve exceptionally high standards of cleanliness while using appropriate, considered products and techniques.
The Role
Working alongside and learning from the Senior Housekeeper, responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleaning and presentation throughout the home
- Daily and deep cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms and household areas
- Using natural and eco-conscious cleaning products and methods wherever appropriate
- Understanding the correct products and techniques for different surfaces, materials and finishes
- Laundry, ironing and the careful handling of clothing and household linens
- Preparing and refreshing guest bedrooms
- Assisting with household organisation and maintaining supplies
- Supporting seasonal and scheduled deep cleaning
- Helping prepare the house for family occasions and guests
- Working closely with the wider household and estate team
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously worked for a professional cleaning company, in high-end domestic cleaning, luxury hospitality or another environment where consistently high cleaning standards are expected.
You do not need to have extensive private-household experience. More important is that you are an exceptionally thorough cleaner, take real pride in the standard of your work and are enthusiastic about learning the wider responsibilities of a professional housekeeper.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have very high personal standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
- Have professional cleaning experience, ideally within a reputable cleaning company
- Have knowledge of, or a strong interest in, natural and eco-friendly cleaning products
- Understand that different surfaces and materials require different methods of care
- Be keen to learn skills beyond cleaning, including laundry, ironing, wardrobe care and guest preparation
- Be hardworking, reliable and well organised
- Be receptive to guidance and enjoy learning from an experienced Senior Housekeeper
- Have a positive, friendly and proactive approach
- Be discreet and respectful of the family’s privacy
- Enjoy being part of a close-knit and supportive team
- Be comfortable working within a family home
