We are looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes and delivering high-quality products.
As Production Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring our production operation runs safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will lead your team by example, helping to create a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
Production Operations
- Plan, coordinate and oversee daily production schedules to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
- Monitor production performance to ensure efficiency, productivity and quality targets are met.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve performance.
- Support the management of raw material and finished goods inventory.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and support the production team to achieve operational objectives.
- Train, coach and develop team members, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities and performs to a high standard.
- Foster a positive working environment built on teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Address day-to-day staff issues and escalate significant concerns to the Production Manager where appropriate.
Quality
- Ensure quality checks are completed throughout the production process.
- Work closely with the Quality team to maintain compliance with company and industry standards.
- Investigate quality concerns, implement corrective actions and help prevent repeat issues.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the production department.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Support regular safety audits and risk assessments alongside the Health & Safety team.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively with Design, Sales and Operations teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Prepare regular production updates and performance reports for the Production Manager.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements, increased efficiency and innovation.
What we're looking for
Essential
- At least 3 years' experience within a production or manufacturing environment, ideally in jewellery or precision manufacturing.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a production team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Experience using production management systems and manufacturing software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Production Management or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM manufacturing technologies.
