Hee Kee Restaurant Warrington is looking for a reliable, experienced and customer-focused Cantonese-speaking Front of House Team Member to join our team.
Available hours are currently expected to average approximately 25–30 hours per week, depending on the weekly rota and business needs. No minimum number of hours is guaranteed.
Excellent customer service and a proactive attitude are essential. The successful applicant must greet customers promptly, approach and assist customers actively rather than waiting to be called, and ensure that every customer feels welcomed and properly attended to throughout their visit.
Confident spoken Cantonese is essential because the role involves daily communication with Cantonese-speaking kitchen colleagues and customers. Applicants must also have a reasonable level of spoken English and be able to communicate with local customers, explain menu items and take orders independently.
Main duties
- Greet every customer promptly, warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Proactively approach and assist customers rather than waiting to be called
- Seat customers, provide menus and explain dishes, promotions and meal options
- Pay attention to customers’ needs throughout their visit
- Check tables regularly and offer further assistance, drinks or additional orders when appropriate
- Take food and drink orders accurately
- Communicate customer orders clearly with the kitchen team
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously
- Answer customer enquiries in a helpful and professional manner
- Handle customer concerns calmly and report complaints or service issues promptly
- Process cash and card payments accurately using the till system
- Handle takeaway, telephone and delivery-platform orders
- Prepare drinks and assist with general front-of-house duties
- Clear, clean and reset tables promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in dining areas, service stations and customer facilities
- Support colleagues during busy service periods
- Follow company procedures relating to food hygiene, allergens, health and safety and customer service
- Promote menu items and special offers appropriately
Essential requirements
- A friendly, polite and genuinely customer-focused attitude
- Willingness to greet and assist customers proactively
- Able to notice when customers need attention without waiting to be called
- Able to speak and understand Cantonese confidently
- Reasonable spoken English
- Able to communicate with local customers and take orders independently
- Previous restaurant, café or hospitality experience
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Professional manner with customers and colleagues
- Able to remain organised and efficient during busy periods
- Willing to complete cleaning and general service duties
- Available for a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
Contract and working hours
- Hours are offered according to the weekly rota and business needs
- Current available hours are expected to average approximately 25–30 hours per week
- No minimum number of working hours is guaranteed
- Daytime, evening and weekend shifts
- Weekend availability is required
- Additional hours may sometimes be offered during busy periods
Probation and career progression
The first three months will be treated as a probationary assessment period.
After completing this period successfully, there may be an opportunity to progress to a Senior Front of House or Supervisor role, with responsibility for supporting, training and coordinating junior team members.

Supervisory responsibilities will only be considered after the individual has demonstrated that they can consistently complete their own duties professionally, independently and with the required service attitude.
