Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Plasterer / Renderer to assist with plastering and rendering work on residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will support skilled tradespeople, prepare surfaces, and carry out basic plastering and rendering tasks while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with internal plastering and external rendering tasks.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, bonding, and applying base coats.
- Mix plaster, render, and other materials to the correct consistency.
- Apply base coats, scratch coats, and finishing coats under supervision.
- Support with patch repairs, skimming, and general plastering duties.
- Load and unload materials and maintain a tidy working area.
- Set up and dismantle basic access equipment such as ladders or small scaffold towers where required.
- Follow health and safety procedures on site at all times.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Requirements:
- Previous experience assisting with plastering or rendering work preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plastering tools, materials, and techniques.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work on construction sites.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- CSCS card preferred but not essential (depending on site requirements).
- Full UK driving licence beneficial but not essential.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with skimming, patching, or external rendering systems.
- Familiarity with mixing materials and surface preparation.
- Ability to use basic plastering tools such as hawk, trowel, and float.
