Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the senior kitchen team in food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Contribute to the presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet quality standards before serving
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently, including food safety protocols
- Support with inventory management by organising ingredients and supplies efficiently
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in supervising junior staff or trainees when required, demonstrating leadership qualities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience in supervising or managing team members is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Passionate about culinary arts and eager to learn new skills
- Previous experience in food production, serving, or hospitality roles is desirable but not mandatory
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant training will be considered an asset
