Appleberry Care – Healthcare Assistant / Senior Healthcare Assistant

We are recruiting two experienced Senior Female Care Assistants to provide domiciliary care across Oakham and the surrounding areas.
The roles include a mixture of day, evening and night shifts, with some weekend work available. Shift patterns can be discussed based on your availability and the needs of the service.
Because the role involves providing intimate personal care to female clients who have expressed a preference for female care staff, being female is an occupational requirement for these positions under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Please note this Driving is a must for this position and there is no sponsorship offered for these positions at the moment .

You must have:
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Support clients with medication, meals and daily routines.
- Deliver care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Promote clients’ independence, dignity, privacy and wellbeing.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health, behaviour or circumstances.
- Maintain accurate care records.
- Support and guide care assistants during shifts.
- Assist with care assessments and care-plan reviews.
- Conduct spot checks and help maintain required care standards.
- Respond appropriately to concerns, incidents and emergencies.
- Communicate professionally with clients, relatives, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
Essential requirements
- Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar adult social care setting.
- Experience working in a senior or supervisory care role.
- Good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and medication procedures.
- Ability to lead and support other care staff.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use electronic care-recording systems.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
- Availability for day, evening, night and weekend shifts.
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently.
A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
