No two days the same — one morning you're painting out a flat, the afternoon you're siliconing a bath or putting up blinds for a landlord.
If you've had a taste of the trades and you're hungry to do more — read on...
About us
PPS South is a fast-growing property maintenance company in Bournemouth, working with letting agents, landlords and homeowners across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch — decorating, repairs, void turnarounds, refurbishments and everything in between. We've built a strong reputation on doing things properly and at pace, and we're growing fast. We're looking for the right person to grow with us.
The role
This isn't a senior position — it's the right one for someone who's been around the trades, knows how to graft, and is ready to learn fast and take on more. Decorating is the backbone of the work, but our clients need us to handle the full mix. You'll be out on site getting stuck in, picking things up as you go, and building your skillset alongside an experienced team.
Maybe you've been helping out on jobs, working as a decorator, keeping gardens and properties tidy, or doing odd jobs for landlords. You know what a day's work looks like on site. Now you want something more structured, more varied, and somewhere that'll back you to develop.
What you'll be doing
- Interior and exterior painting and decorating — the core of the role
- General property maintenance and reactive repairs for landlords and letting agents
- Small plumbing jobs — siliconing baths, replacing taps, simple leaks and traps
- Basic carpentry and fixings — putting up shelves, blinds, handles, locks, flat-pack
- Garden maintenance and outdoor upkeep
- Helping out on larger refurbishment jobs alongside the team
- Whatever else comes up — this is property maintenance, every day is different
What we need from you
- Some experience working in a trades environment — decorating, garden maintenance, property odd jobs, or similar. You've been on site, you know the basics, and you're not starting from zero
- Ideally you've worked alongside someone on more skilled jobs and picked things up — if so, even better
- A grafter — you take pride in what you do and you don't need to be told twice
- Presentable, reliable, and good with clients and tenants
- Own tools (basic kit to start is fine)
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle — (essential you have your own vehicle, you will be paid for use of this)
- Self-employed or willing to register — CIS registration is a bonus, we can help point you in the right direction
What you'll get
- Competitive pay — discussed at interview based on your experience. It grows as your skillset does.
- Consistent, local, full-time work — Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, always
- Hands-on training and real development — you'll be learning new skills every week
- A direct line to the owner — your effort gets noticed, you're not a number
- Real room to grow — as the business scales, the people who've put the work in go with it
Why join us
We're not looking for the finished article — we're looking for someone with the right attitude and enough experience to hit the ground running. If you've worked on properties, you know how to graft, and you want somewhere that'll invest in you and push you forward — this is it. Come in, work hard, and build a proper career in the trades with a team that's going places.
