Workshop Manager / Workshop Controller Duties
We are looking for a Workshop Manager / Workshop Controller to join our garage team.
Main duties include:
Managing the daily workshop schedule and planning technicians’ work.
Allocating jobs to technicians based on priority, skill level and deadlines.
Checking job progress throughout the day and making sure work is completed on time.
Communicating with the reception/sales team about job updates, estimates, delays and customer requirements.
Ensuring all vehicles are inspected properly and work is completed to a high standard.
Checking completed jobs before vehicles are returned to customers.
Managing parts requirements together with the parts/admin team to avoid delays.
Supporting technicians with technical advice where needed.
Making sure health and safety procedures are followed in the workshop.
Keeping the workshop clean, organised and efficient.
Monitoring technician productivity, quality of work and timekeeping.
Helping improve workflow, customer satisfaction and overall garage performance.
Requirements:
Strong automotive experience, ideally with Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Good leadership and communication skills.
Ability to organise workload and work under pressure.
High attention to detail and quality standards.
Professional attitude and problem-solving skills.
Pay: £29,483.16-£53,715.49 per year
