Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, identifying defects or issues that may affect safety or emissions.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments as required during testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and test results in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of vehicles for testing, including checking lights, tyres, brakes, and exhaust systems.
- Ensure the workshop maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining test results clearly and advising on necessary repairs or maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment safely.
- Familiarity with current MOT testing regulations and procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping.
- A valid MOT Tester qualification recognised by the DVSA is essential. Pay: £26,165.16-£32,000.00 per year
