Electrical Supervisor (Approved Electrician)
Salary: £40,000 per annum Benefits: Company van, 21 days holiday + statutory holidays Location: Amber Valley, Derbyshire (with travel to surrounding sites)
We are seeking an experienced Approved Electrician to join our team as an Electrical Supervisor, overseeing day‑to‑day operations across projects primarily based in the Amber Valley area of Derbyshire. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, organised approach to supervising electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Planning
- Plan daily work schedules and allocate tasks to currently four electrical teams.
- Coordinate labour, materials, and site requirements to keep projects on programme.
- Work closely with the Contract Manager to book in works and manage workflow.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Enforce all health and safety requirements on site.
- Deliver toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards.
- Liaise with NAPIT regarding certification, compliance queries, and technical matters.
Quality Control & Certification
- Carry out regular site audits and inspections of workmanship.
- Review, verify, and sign off electrical test certificates, including EICRs.
- Oversee the submission of certificates through Easicert from electrical staff.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior electricians.
- Assess competence levels and provide guidance where required.
- Handle day‑to‑day queries from electrical staff and resolve technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients’ electrical supervisors and other trades.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification and AM2.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Qualified Supervisor (QS) certification/experience.
- Knowledge / experience in social housing works.
- Excellent understanding of NAPIT standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience carrying out quality assurance inspections and spot checks on electrical operatives.
- Ability to ensure engineers remain fully trained and up to date with current regulations.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Cards & Safety Training
- ECS Gold Card – Approved Electrician
- SSSTS or SMSTS (Site Safety Management)
