Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration according to care plans and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Help clients with household chores, light cleaning, and laundry to maintain a clean living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Manage behavior effectively, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, using patience and understanding
- Drive clients safely to appointments, errands, or social activities as needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior care
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassionate support and patient dignity
- Ability to perform light physical tasks such as heavy lifting when required for client mobility or equipment use
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties
- Basic first aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively
