The Creek, Galmpton, is an exciting and ambitious independent restaurant situated on the beautiful banks of the River Dart two miles up the river from Dartmouth in South Devon. Since opening, we have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers and have quickly established ourselves as a destination venue within the local dining scene.
Currently offering a selection of small plates and high-quality homemade sourdough pizzas, we are now entering the next stage of our journey. We are looking for an exceptional Head Chef to help shape and expand our food offering, championing the outstanding local and seasonal produce available to us in the Southwest.
As we move further into 2026, our vision is to develop a more refined dining experience, focusing on the finest local seafood, exceptional meat offerings, and creative seasonal dishes that showcase the very best of our region. We are committed to staying at the forefront of the Southwest food scene and are seeking a talented chef who shares our passion and ambition.
This is a rare and unique opportunity for a very passionate and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, to enjoy creating outstanding dishes using fresh, high-quality ingredients and to play a key role in the development of a growing business.
Working closely with our Chef/Proprietor, you will have the opportunity to influence menus, develop new concepts, and help establish The Creek as one of the region's must visit dining destinations.
Our focus will be on sourcing the very best fish, seafood and meats the South West has to offer. We are very lucky to be able to work with not only the amazing Brixham Fish Market but also directly with day boat fishermen and with countless high quality farmers and producers.
We believe in creating a positive working environment where hard work is recognised and supported. While there will be busy services and the challenges that come with a thriving restaurant, you will not be expected to carry the burden alone. You will have the full support of our Chef/Proprietor and management team.
The role will include evening and weekend shifts; however, we are committed to maintaining a healthy work/life balance, including one weekend off per month during the low season.
For the right candidate, there is significant scope for progression and involvement in the continued growth of the business, including the potential for profit sharing opportunities based on annual turnover, together with performance related bonuses. Due to our location, there are further satellite development projects (bakery / coffee shop / smoke house), which you would have the opportunity to be part of.
