Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with young children. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social interaction
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child's individual needs
- Manage classroom organisation, including resources and learning materials
- Lead by example in demonstrating management and leadership skills within the nursery setting
- Support the professional development of junior staff members when required
- Assist with organising outings or excursions, including driving when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in childcare, nursery work or early childhood education
- Strong management and leadership abilities within a childcare setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, fostering their growth and confidence
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
- Organised with the ability to plan activities that stimulate learning
- Compassionate, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children
- Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities
