Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shirt Pressor to join our team in a busy textile or garment manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for pressing shirts to a high standard of quality, ensuring garments are presented professionally and meet customer specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in garment finishing, with a focus on precision and efficiency. Prior experience in warehouse operations or sewing is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Operate shirt pressing machines to achieve smooth, crisp finishes on garments
- Inspect shirts for quality, ensuring they meet specified standards before packaging or delivery
- Organise and prepare shirts for pressing, including folding or hanging as required
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the pressing area and equipment
- Assist with basic garment handling tasks such as folding, sorting, and stacking
- Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or garment manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory
- Sewing skills are considered an asset and can contribute to understanding garment construction and quality standards
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely
