Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Groundworks Water/Drainage Specialist to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing water and drainage systems on-site, ensuring the smooth flow of water and proper drainage solutions across various projects. Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to dig trenches, install pipes, and prepare sites for drainage systems
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, install, or repair water and drainage components with precision
- Perform welding tasks to join pipes or repair damaged sections, ensuring secure and leak-proof connections
- Conduct mechanical inspections of drainage systems to identify issues and implement necessary repairs or adjustments
- Apply electrical knowledge when working with pump systems or automated drainage controls
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to maintain a secure work environment
- Assist in site preparation activities such as marking layouts, setting out pipe routes, and clearing debris
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery in construction or civil engineering environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping systems, and drainage infrastructure
- Skilled in welding techniques suitable for pipe joining and repairs
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in groundworks tasks
- Electrical experience related to pump systems or automated drainage controls is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings, plans, and schematics accurately
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites

Pay: £13.50-£18.00 per hour
