About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced operational manager who is equally confident running shifts, managing front-of-house, and cooking on a commercial kitchen line. You will work alongside the owners to manage daily operations, train staff, ensure efficient shift closures, and maintain exceptional food and service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift Leadership: Run daily operations, lead opening and closing procedures (08:30 setup / 16:30 close finish), manage labor efficiency, handle cash, and act as primary keyholder.
- Kitchen & Catering: Cook core menu items, prepare corporate buffets, perform food prep, and enforce strict HACCP/food safety standards.
- Stock & Admin: Oversee stock ordering, inventory checks, date rotation, and waste management.
- Team Development: Train, mentor, and guide junior kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient, high-standard shifts.
- Customer & Community Engagement: Deliver warm hospitality, build connections with regular guests, and actively host local community programs, walking groups, wellbeing initiatives, and occasional scheduled evening events (with TOIL/advance notice).
What We Are Looking For:
- 2+ Years Management: Proven experience as an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, or Kitchen Manager in food service.
- Commercial Kitchen Skills: Hands-on experience cooking on a commercial line and preparing high-volume buffets.
- Operational Knowledge: Confident with team management, stock control, date rotation, and efficient shift close-downs.
- Certifications: Level 2 Food Safety required (Level 3 preferred).
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
