Details of Position
We are recruiting teaching support for a Business English Course, supporting displaced learners relocating to the UK.
This role is ideal for a tutor who is passionate about language / employability and wants to make a tangible difference. You will be teaching a small-medium group rather than a large class, and you will work alongside another teacher in a co-teaching model. All lesson materials, resources, and curriculum guides are fully prepared (though youll have the opportunity to input in to lesson changes if required / this is encouraged). Teaching will take place in-person, in Birmingham City Centre, **alternate** Sundays, 11.30am-2pm. From Sunday 20th September.
Key Course Themes:
- UK Workplace Communication.
- Interview Language, and the STAR Technique.
- Technical Communication (Meetings and Office Discussions).
Requirements
- Education: A University Degree in any discipline.
- Qualifications: Cambridge CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, or an equivalent externally validated Level 5 TEFL qualification. Additional pay available for any higher qualifications (eg. DELTA, Cert IBET).
- Experience: Previous experience teaching Business English or English for Employability is highly desirable.
- Competencies: Ability to explain complex linguistic concepts (like competency-based interview language) clearly.
- Flexibility: While we prioritise reliability, we offer flexibility if you cannot commit to every session and are happy to discuss schedules with the successful candidate. The focus is more on finding the right person.
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly Rate: £25 per hour based on experience, with up to a 25% bonus for positive student feedback and learning outcomes. Additional pay available for any higher qualifications (eg. DELTA, Cert IBET).
- Minimal Prep Time: Teaching plans, PowerPoints, and student resources are provided (though input encouraged).
- Collaborative Environment: Work as part of a small, friendly and supportive team.
