Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HGV Workshop Manager to lead and oversee all operations within our heavy goods vehicle (HGV) maintenance facility. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians, ensuring the highest standards of vehicle repair, safety, and efficiency. Your expertise in mechanical systems and leadership abilities will drive the smooth running of our workshop, supporting our fleet’s reliability and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily workshop activities to ensure timely and quality maintenance of HGVs.
- Supervise technicians, providing guidance and feedback to foster a motivated team.
- Plan and prioritize repair schedules based on operational needs, vehicle availability, and safety standards.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and workshop facilities to uphold safety standards.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues and assist with repairs when necessary.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices in workshop operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a technical team.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to automotive workshops.
- Ability to plan workloads effectively while managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in vehicle maintenance or automotive engineering are highly desirable.
