You could be the next enthusiastic team member to join our award winning small and friendly care home. The Laurels has been recognised as being one of the 20 top rated Care Homes in the region based on published reviews from residents and their family and friends. We have a newly built and designed bespoke commercial kitchen and you will be working as part of a job share with a very experienced and passionate colleague.
As part of your role, you will prepare meals and develop menu plans that will change on weekly basis – and that everyone will look forward to! You will ensure that that highest standard of food quality, hygiene and safety are consistently maintained. Where necessary, you will assist with food ordering and checking that all food records are accurately maintained.
You will be able to demonstrate competent food preparation skills, and will be capable of managing a small kitchen. You will have at least one year’s experience in a similar positon, or with similar responsibilities. An NVQ in Professional Cookery, and a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate/Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is also required. You must be able to work as part of a team and be able to work every other weekend as part of a job share. Excellent bespoke new kitchen.
40 hrs per week, to be worked over 4 days from 7.00am to 5.30pm. This would provide the opportunity to have 3 full rest days per week.
The service is on a main public transport route and is easily accessible.
