Oranmore Precast is a leading manufacturer of high-quality precast concrete products, supplying customers across the UK from two bases Brandan, Norfolk and Lound, Nottinghamshire.
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team and support the continued operation of our production facility.
This position can be based at our Lound site.
Job Summary
The QA Technician will ensure the highest quality standards across all production stages, actively promoting quality and sustainability within the organisation. They will be responsible for day-to-day quality control checks and coordinating daily QA logistics, including ensuring all work areas are covered, and all required checks are completed. This role also requires regular communication with the Group Quality and Compliance Manager and flexibility to support QA requirements across all Lound Oranmore Precast factories.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-pour checks, including verifying material specifications and confirming setup compliance.
- Perform post-pour inspections to assess product quality, checking dimensions, strength, and finish.
- Conduct concrete cube compression strength testing to verify compliance with specified strength requirements.
- Document and report inspection results, highlighting deviations or issues and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
- Support quality control audits and compliance checks.
- Maintain records and ensure QA documentation aligns with standard operating practices.
- Champion quality and sustainability initiatives, driving improvements aligned with organizational goals and sustainability standards.
- Assist in the investigation of NCRs, ensuring root causes are identified and robust corrective and preventative measures are implemented.
- Upload and maintain compliance documentation in alignment with customer requirements and expectations, ensuring timely updates and accuracy.
- Coordinate daily QA logistics, including confirming work area coverage, allocating daily tasks within the QA team, and ensuring all inspections and documentation are completed each day.
- Ensure capability to cover Quality Assurance requirements across all Loud factories, adapting to operational needs and providing support wherever required.
- Provide regular updates to the Group Quality and Compliance Manager, communicating progress, issues, and improvement actions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or precast concrete environment, with demonstrated responsibility for organising daily quality control activities.
- ACI – ICT certification or equivalent (Required)
- Proven understanding of quality control processes, including inspection techniques, defect identification, concrete strength testing, and compliance documentation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in precast concrete manufacturing.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise tasks, and adapt to operational needs across multiple factory sites.
