Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of primarily main cook/chef. This position involves hands-on food preparation and culinary duties within a busy kitchen environment. Whist all our great staff have been trained to cook our breakfasts to the same standard they also carry out all the other duties that a bed and breakfast requires. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality breakfasts, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and providing excellent service to our customers. Previous experience in restaurant or catering settings is highly desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food and eager to show their culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of dishes following established recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Support the team during busy service periods, including serving customers when required
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet hygiene standards and safety protocols
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen setting
- Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary arts, or serving is advantageous but not essential
