Job Summary
Mac’s Deli is an independent sandwich deli and specialty coffee spot based in Theale. We are looking for a confident and reliable Front of House Barista to join our team.
This is a hands-on role combining quality coffee making, customer service, and high standards of cleanliness. You will be working on a traditional/manual espresso machine, not a button-operated system, so prior experience with real coffee equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold drinks using a traditional espresso machine
- Be able to steam milk to perfection, Know the basics of coffee, Be able to pour out latte art.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, while adhering to hygiene regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till, employing basic math skills for accurate payments.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Previous barista experience is essential; we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates.
- Familiarity with food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment will be advantageous.
- Basic math skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
- Comfortable with regular and deep cleaning as part of the role
